About Me

I’m Tamara (pronounced Ta-mUH-rah, or Тамара for Russian speakers), and I am a freelance reporter and editor and a research producer with Search Party and Johnny Harris.

As a freelancer, I write and produce videos that explore the dark side of digital technology, human rights, geopolitics, and global sports. I’m also a stellar editor who’s worked with major nonprofits to produce error-free research reports for publication.

In the past, I have worked on conflict prevention, peacebuilding, refugee rights, and women’s rights in nonprofits and multilateral organizations like the UN Development Programme and the OECD.

I have a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor’s in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. My academic interests include Soviet and Russian foreign policy in Ukraine, the women, peace and security agenda in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, and sexual and gender-based violence in conflict.

You can find my stories in Slate Magazine, Rest of World, New America Weekly, and Women’s Media Center or by checking out my clips here.

I am always open to reporting and content writing opportunities, and you can contact me at tamaravevdokimova@gmail.com for collaboration or commissions.

I also enjoy graphic design and have lots of experience creating campaigns for social media and print. You can view some of my work under Design.

I spend too much of my free time scrolling Twitter and Substack, acquiring an unsustainable quantity of books, and fruitlessly waiting for someone to make a rom com to rival early 2000s classics.
